This Book analyses the roles played by the United Nations to influence peaceful relations between Cameroon and Nigeria. Most scholars on United Nations studies are controversial on its decolonization process and the resolution of conflicts between states. They maintained that the effectiveness of the United Nations as guarantor of peace has greatly reduced. The Author examines the validity of this opinion and demonstrate that, the United Nations is a facilitator of innovative ideas and the promoter of the peaceful relations that reigns between Cameroon and Nigeria. Through its decolonization process, Nigeria, British and French Cameroons achieved their independence. The UN also contributed to the promotion of peace and strengthening of relations between Cameroon and Nigeria through the resolution of the Bakassi conflict. The present volume provides an insight into new conditions for security and the promotion of innovative methods of conflict resolution.
